Well, I've tried to stay quiet and out of you guy's business this week. I'm still teetering on a couple of games, but may very well end up at this game. I have got the Milan game penciled in, regardless of who hosts them next week. (Could you guess I'm picking Milan over Hickman?)

I picked Milan to come out of Quad 4 as well. Seems like a safe pick now but you never know. Can you imagine the banter this week if it had been South Gibson (the new 3A powerhouse)?

Congrats to Mitchell Potts and Brady Bose from CC and James Elliott and Robert Brown from CPA for being selected to the East/West All Star game.

Very interesting West All Star roster. They have a Fairview WR listed as Julian Franklin, which is the RB. The WR is Moore. I wonder who is really on the roster...Julian or Deondre?

Brentwood Home Page Preview of the game:

One thing is for certain in this showdown of undefeated teams, in which one team’s season will end with its only loss: Cheatham County will probably be running the ball.

The Cubs have three players with over 1,300 yards rushing in quarterback Mitchell Potts (1,480 yards, 21 TDs) and running backs Desmond Sweatt (1,444 yards, 18 TDs) and Dakota White (1,382 yards, 17 TDs).

“They're scoring right under 50 points a game,†CPA’s Martin said. “They play great defense. They're the most physical team we've seen. They've got maybe the best all-around football player, just as far as toughness, will to win, all that kind of stuff, in their quarterback, Mitchell Potts"

"And it's going to be a fun night of football. They've got great support up there and a great environment so we'll get to travel up there and be their guests for a battle of two unbeaten teams.â€

Martin said trying to stop the three-prong running attack will be key to the Lions making a return trip to the semifinals. Tight end Brady Bose (6-4, 255), named a Tennessee East All-Star, is among the blockers up front.

“They're doing a great job of balancing it out. You can't focus on one person,†the CPA coach said. “. . . They've got a great offensive line that’s obviously opened up humongous holes for their kids, and those kids have run through them and been able to make people miss 'em in the second level.

That's got Bose too small. I would add 3 inches and 30lbs to him. He's a hoss!

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
