Doesn't sound like they are committed to football there if they mention the teaching position that is open. Good grief. Don't worry about what the guy teaches until you get your resumes sent to you. Then sort out what you really can't do and work around what guys really interest you. I guess they are just going to take whatever coach they can as long as he can teach math. What a joke. Education is more important than athletics but ...a great football coach can make his team better in all subjects if he is the right leader. They have the kids to be successful there but if they want to stay down that is fine...one less team we have to worry about in the playoffs.

A buddy of mine checked into the position. They are just looking for a math teacher who can coach "a little." Seriously, this is what the lady at the central office said when he inquired about the position. So all of you math teachers who "coach a little football" head on down to Lewisburg and put your name in the hat for the job "coaching a little football" at Forrest High School. Nathan Bedford would be proud to be associated with the program!

Most schools search for the very best at every position. If you need a top notch math teacher don't assume they can coach football. If you need a top notch English teacher, don't presume they will be a good head coach. Likewise, hire the best man or woman for the job in coaching too. If a man has experience, organizational skills, knowledge of the game, hire him!
