In Kenwood's 3rd year they did advance to the 1999 Class 4A State Semifinals. They beat Tullahoma (who was unbeaten that season), Pearl-Cohn (1996-19997 champs), and Whites Creek (19998 runner-up to Maryville) in the playoffs that November.

Any word on when they are interviewing? I used to live in Clarksville and would like to get back that way. Would like to be a head coach, but if not I will keep being asst and work hard.

I would love to see them land Cody Finley. He is a very good football coach and Kenwood would be lucky to have him.

Not particularly.

 

Their offense was pretty good last year, mainly because of their running backs, and I believe both of them were seniors. Their defense was awful. I'm not sure what kind of talent they have in their underclassmen, but the incoming coach likely has his work cut out for him.

Someone explain to me what has happened...I alluded to the 99 team that lost in the semis and since that time, Kenwood, to my knowledge, has done nothing. What has happened that put what appeared to be such an up and coming program into the dregs of mediocrity?

A Cheatham County guy. Bauer had some good years there but didn't win in the playoffs. Goltra's stay was very brief. KHS got it right when they hired a Cheatham County guy the first time.
