Hampton had a bad game to say the least, but NG deserves the credit. It really wasn't a case of dugger getting injured, Hampton was down big pretty late in the 2ond half with her playing. Hopefully she is not out for good, that girl has worked her butt off and has haD an amazing 4 years. I've enjoyed watching her play. Good luck Dorothy.

She's definitely a wild west gunslinger on the basketball court. It was almost a given every time she shot the 3 ball. I hope she can come back.

Sorry to hear that Ms. Dugger is hurt. I hope she can bounce back quickly. Cloudland vs. North Greene should be a great game for the District 1 title. Unaka may give Hampton all they want in the third place game.

Elizabethton vs. Happy Valley could also be a dandy in the AA final, as everybody will want to stay out of Grainger's bracket in the Region.

Unicoi appears to have peaked too early (its win over Eliz); since then they have struggled to beat Johnson County twice, HV, and lost to Hampton and Cloudland, then get blown out by HV last night. If they can regroup and beat East, they likely get South Greene at their place, which will be a tall order. Lose to East tomorrow and a trip to the woodshed at Grainger Co. looms.

All this assuming Grainger beats So. Greene, which on paper they should, but So Greene has a way of peaking this time of year......

On paper HV shouldnt give Eliz much trouble, but Coach Abel has them believing, so anything is possible.

Im shocked Hampton had such an off night. Any update on DD's injury?

I think some of the low scoring may be due to these girls playing in a very large gym that's something they need to get use to and fast. All so they all play some pretty good defense, should be some great games from here on out.Good luck to the Lady Landers tonight and the rest of the way.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin

    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
