Cannon Co.(27-6) at McMinn Central (29-3)

East Hamilton (24-10) at Livingston Academy (29-6)

Creek Wood (27-4) at Macon Co. (27-4)

CPA (26-7) at Page (28-4)

Trezevant (18-10) at Covington (33-2)

Here are my picks. B)

Elizabethton. (Any one else notice that Grainger got destroyed by them tonight?)

CAK (going on a gut feeling here)

McMinn Central (will be a very close game. Cannon will not be able to handle the round house)

Livingston Academy (will be a 20+ point game)

Creek Wood ( just a guess)

CPA ( just a guess)

Covington (won't be a close game)

Westview (know that they are always a tough team. Put my Chargerettes out at state a few years back)

Grainger played Elizabethton AT Elizabethton. That could have had an impact on the outcome. Could be an indicator of whether or not Grainger is ready to make the next step or not. My feeling is that it's an indictment of the postseason for hoops in general. Time to start having neutral sites for all the tournaments. Been that way for years. Goes back to all those years Hal Henard was the site for many tournaments that South Greene won. It's basically their home away from home. Rotation between districts is fine for the region, but playing at Milligan, the Mini Dome or somewhere else acceptable is preferred.

Exactly the way I would pick them! CPA over Page wouldn't be a surprise. Edited by rabbitranch

Livingston has the easiest substate game.

I don't know about easy, there are no easy games at this point in the year.

    • Yes I agree. They lost Alexander from last year but gained Gray and gained a year of experience for the other players as well. They are senior dominate this season as they start 5 seniors, so it should be a fun ride
    • Oh I know about Gibson Co and have seen them play Westview MANY times over the past 20+ years. However, after they lost Hart and Turner last year, I said they would struggle this year with not having a dominant player that could take over a game like years past and had posters on here comment saying they would be good. What I saw tonight is what I expected. They didn’t have a leader that stepped up and handled the ball and took over and ran their offense.    With the dominant win over Dyersburg last week and then Gibson Co this week, I think Westview has proved they are the top team in this area no doubt
    • I would say Westview is very fortunate to get the Gray kid from South Fulton.. I think they’re a different team without her there. She’s a good player.
    • I’ve watched a lot of west tn girls ball.. and I’ll say this.. Westview dominated tonight. But, the overall season for Gibson has been good. They lost a miss basketball, mvp, highest point scorer in the history of the program in Micah hart, and a really good defender in Miyah Turner.. those aren’t excuses. But maybe Gibson County hasn’t found their new identity without them. I’ll say overall history would say to not let one game base your decision. That program has a rich tradition. Maybe they regroup and find some solutions for the defense and lack of offense at times… still think you can count them in as the other team to get to state from this region and sub state, unless there’s a team I don’t know about.
    • Westview is best team in 2A ball.
