This is true. Marion has had a tough time since the KC era. However leadership means a lot. MCHS has leadership in place to become relevant again in all aspects of the HS.. Be careful of how you talk about MCHS.. Everything happens in cycles.. From the looks of things, if leadership at SP doesn't hurry and get established, they'll run into a stretch of tough years.. Being a county guy, I wish them the best.. Can anybody tell me how many times SP beat MCHS in the 80s and 90s? This is when leadership at MCHS was great.. The leadership is in place for some great years to come at MCHS..

Twice, maybe 2 times in the 80s (86 and 87) and 3 in the 90s. However, from 82 through the switch, Jasper was AA in the old system and after the switch were 3a in the new system and many times the games went down to 1 score even in Gold Ball years. K.C. used to take advantage of a string of 65 or 70 players better than most coaches. Part of the recent string is due to Jasper being a larger 2a school.

Edit: In fact, all of Jasper's Gold Balls are AA (2) or 3a (2) from 1990 on and a AA silver ball in 1984.

Believe it or not that's what I want also. I want our county to scare the crap out of everyone. I will talk junk to jasper morons who get on here and try to stir up trouble and you know who you are. The best year I can think of is when jasper, north Jackson and the Pirates all won the state. Community pride busting at the seam.

Talking about county pride.. If some on both sides could swallow a little of it, consolidation would be great for county

They didn't all three win the state that year. SP an Marion won it in 94, but NJ won it the year before in 93.

    • Great to meet you too.  We're going to work hard to get back.
    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
