13sports
I think it should be the same for all sports. Split public and private (another argument for another day). 3 classes for public schools and 2 for private. The same for all sports. There are too many state champions in football. The state champion is only the best of about 59-60 schools. Though it is hard to do, that is not enough.
Solomon
I'd still like to see them go to 4 classes personally. That or go to 5 classes, add an 11th "preseason" game for all teams and go to 16 teams in each class make playoffs.
Indian
I agree four in football basketball baseball and softball. Just divide by number in each sport not the school total regardless of if they have football or not.
13sports
Four would be fine. Just make it the same across the board.
QSouth89
The old system really did make sense and the match ups where based on district standings. The new format creates weird match ups like two 8-2 teams playing in the first round. Place all the teams in districts by class size instead of mismatching.
