Bailey Wittman loses 7-5 to Idaho state champ, lost due to giving up a 3-point head pinch in last 15 seconds.

Here is a trivia question , maybe ghouse knows. What Tn wrestlers have been AA's at Fargo? Especially in freestyle and juniors as that seams to be the toughest.

Actually Yost was a double in cadets and was a finaist in Junior Filas.

Long list of overall AA's (not compared to some states but more than I am going to name).

 

Junior freestyle narrows it down quite a bit as we haven't had a lot. Boskin already named a few that came to mind.

 

Blake Thomas did it from brentwood.

Cameron Croy as well.

 

Tate Robinson although he was representing MO at the time.

Eckhart wins 10-0 over GA opponent.

The only freestyle juniors to AA at fargo that I saw were Keller x2, Kyle james, Croy , Robinson and Blake Thomas. I also found it interesting that these were all at lower weights or upper weights. To my knowledge Tn has never had a AA in any of the middle weights. I dont know about any of the older wrestlers like Mctorry, Vance, Norfleet, etc..

Simpson loses 13-2 to a solid kid from WI and is eliminated.

 

Wittman loses 10-0 to opponent from OH and is eliminated.

 

Both of those two dropped winnable first round matches and you just can't lose winnable matches at Fargo and expect to survive long.

Interesting observation on the weight classes.

 

There is some truth to that observation around the depth of the weights... the extremes lighter or heavier usually aren't as depp However, not the case for where Robinson was as that weight is generally one of the deepest of the tournament.
