District 4AA this season

Thanks for the report.  Webb is our rival but we saw them play West last night.  We also play Clinton Saturday night at Heritage.  What kind of defense did  Clinton run?

Clinton don't have a lot of height. One player, 23, seems to be able to play big. He is athletic.

Defensively, they put a lot of pressure on the ball. A lot of half court trapping, very aggressive and will force ref's to make plenty of call's. Mainly played man, but did go to zone occasionally.

Very up tempo team on defense. Very physical.

Offensively, they really don't have an inside game, couple of outside shooters 20, and 33. I've watched them the last couple of years they are streaky shooters. If 33 gets hot he can drain some three's.

It was a rough night for the Irish. Lost to West 55-34. Played 5 players and just ran out of gas. With the football playoffs still going on, it could be a rough start till we get our whole team intact. But the boys played hard I'm proud of them.

Played ok. Depth caught us since it was the second game of the day and we only had 6 players. No legs lead to a horrible three point shooting night. We are realistically playing with one starter. We also won another football game and are predicted to win that so we may be going with 6 for 2 more weeks.

Catholic played Sullivan South Saturday afternoon at Heritage in the first game of the Hall of Fame Classic and won 45-38.  Ran out of gas in the evening game and lost to Clinton 61-50.  Catholic played just 5 guys both games.

I will rephrase, Catholic is essentially playing 5.  There is a 6th man who plays depending on foul trouble.

Man scores a career high and yet gets no love??? The assistants didn't even know the name of the freshman that got in when two fouled out.

 

Seriously, the team played extremely hard and are battling until reinforcements arrive. Lots of effort and building depth for the future.

The man with the career high hurt is ankle and may not play this week.  So we are  truly at 5 and will have to play the freshman that dressed.

Spoke with him. He's out 6-8 weeks. Hate that for a kid that has paid his dues and been a good practice player with a super attitude.
