Week 0 Monterey at Upperman

I'm assuming Upperman has the advantage going into this one, but Monterey has some solid athletes and always plays Upperman tough. I've seen Cookeville scrimmage Upperman twice and play Monterey last week, but Cookeville is getting stronger every week so not sure those scores can be compared to predict this one. Anyone else seen Monterey play someone closer to Upperman's size and talent level!

Upperman is better than Cookeville. Proven in 2 scrimmages. Way bigger and stronger, and simular speed. If Cookeville and UHS were to play today, I say UH by 7-10 points. Not as lopsided as in spring cause Cookeville is getting better. This week could get ugly.UHS loked to only play one kid both ways, and looked like they roatated about 5-6 in on each side. I don't think MHS will stay close after first quater with depth and talent UHS has. Plus if it were me, I would try and save some from injuries for ditrict gamess one the score gets onesided

Looper is back. No word on how he's looked in scrimmages and the Ckvl game but he was a solid performer before his injury last season. Does Monterey have any other talent to help him out this year? Couldn't tell much about them from watching the Cookeville game. Cookeville has more kids on the football team than Monterey has in their whole school almost. Wasn't a good indicator of their ability.

    • Starting to pick up for Sam. He has 4 or 5 offers now and more on the way. By mid season the Warriors should have 5 or 6 kids with offers.
    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
