Region 1 AAA- District 1 and District 2

Definitely made a wasted trip to Morristown last night. West win 80-32.West looks to be a good team and Boone looks like they are not very good. Boone couldnt get the ball past the West press the majority of the game. Looked totally out of sync.West seems to be the big favorite in the region so far. SH plays at Boone friday night so we will see how that game turns out. Might tell us who is the distant #2 team in R1.

Well all is quite. First place on the line tonight with Tenn High and SH. Who ya got? West seems like the clear cut favorite to make it out region 1. Boone picked up two wins finally this week. They have been a surprise in the bad way so far.

I think SH pulls put out a close one tonight. Will be a very interesting matchup but Gregory is the difference maker for SH to pull it out.

Zach.. Stay off our tread for your advertising. Now the SH game was good SH lead from tip to horn. I thought SH is getting help from others besides Gregory. That will help. I Also keep seeing the True kid on the bench but not in uniform, what is wrong with her? I would have guess she would be a starter. They have now beat the 3 top teams from the district, but have one more in Surprising Crockett who beat Boone. What is wrong with them? Coach better be put on notice. Talent=wins but when talent=losses you lose your job.

Science Hill will run away with the conference if they beat Crockett.  Coach Turner has done a good job of getting the most our of his talent.  They will be better when True returns from the spleen injury or mono? sickness.  The Boone team has no identity.  They look unorganized at times and it makes me wonder what is going on internally.

I agree. All the coaches last night where into the game from what I could see. You can can tell they are improving. As for Boone, maybe Blazer or MissBBall can tell us. It will interesting to see if SH can stay under 20 of West though. Don't they play next week?

Why is there very little talk about R1 D1 this year. It seems that SH is clearly the best of the district but nobody really even blowing their horn from there as normally do. It seems as DB and Tn High are about equal and what is the deal with Boone?Heard alot about them before season but they seem to be a disappointment just by looking at standings. Anybody have any thoughts or seen any of the games?

At this point, it looks like Science Hill will win the conference.  D-B and Tn High should finish 2 and 3 but could flip.  Volunteer probably should finish 4th.  Boone and Crockett will finish 5 and 6 with Central being 7th.  There is none of these teams that will make it very far in the post season with District 2 teams looking much stronger. 

Science Hill -- Great player and win on tradition

Tn High - Win as a team.  10-11 kids play every night

D-B - Pleasant surprise. Play very hard and as a team

Volunteer - Great player and win ugly

Crockett - Can score but need to defend

Boone - Huge disappointment.  Kids look burned out from all the yelling and antics of the coach. Do not look like a team that received a first place vote in the preseason. 

Central - Same old Cougars

SH all but wrapped the league title with a surgical performance on Boones defense. I was amazed at how well SH is playing defense as well. The HUGE post was nonexistent. One more observation was the lack of fire Boone showed. Back a few years 5 or 6 Boone teams wouldn't lay down. With that said I still think the top 4 in D1 are SH Tenn High DB and Boone. Should be an interesting post season

I dont really get into the games all that much until post season but I wanted to see the SH-Boone game last night and this what I saw. Science Hill didnt really look to me like a team that would only have 1 conf loss. Dont really have any ball handlers and look fair at best on offense. They do seem to play team defense well. Boone doesnt look like a team at all that would or should have gained a first place vote in preseason. The majority of their players dont even look like they want to be out there playing. The coach looks as if he tries to get them fired up and ready to go but they dont even respond to him. Big girl wasnt even a part of the game. Touched the ball very few times on offense and doesnt go after rebounds at all. They have some athletic girls but just dont seem to be very basketball savvy.
