More new uniforms. Any new results expected?

 

No...there are not more new uniforms coming.  Same old helmets they had last year with a different color paint on them, and an additional orange jersey.  I can't speak for anyone else, but I expect new results (a few more wins) this year.  A lot had to be done at WB for wins to start showing up on Friday night, and a lot of those pieces have started falling into place.  Coaches and players have worked really hard so far this off season.  The players know this Coach cares, they see it in how he works so hard to help get them to college, how he takes his own time to pick up kids that don't have a ride to workouts or practice and then turns around and takes them home afterward.....So, while it hasn't happened overnight, I can see where most of the kids (probably 85%) have bought in and will do anything that is asked of them, and I think we will be able to see improved results this year because of it.

 

Hear you are down in Perkinston?  Or when I was in high school, we simply referred to it as "The Perk".  My hometown is in Jones County and I have watched a lot of great football games between JCJC and Gulf Coast.  I have been gone for a while now, but those two used to be the cream of the crop as far as junior college football in that area.  Good luck to you guys this season.

Hope it works out for them. I have my doubts. I am living it up in the metropolis known as The Perk! JCJC and MGCCC still play some good ones. We should be pretty good if the coaches don't mess them up!!!

i personally have zero expectations for them. Every year I am optimistic and things never seem to go the way I think they will. I am not going to predict anything or get excited until I see them win a big game. Lets just see how they do when they go up to morristown the 2nd game of the season. If they win that game there might be reason for excitement.

Had offers from smaller schools, but UT offered him to tryout as a preferred walk on and he is going to do that.

I have not seen a schedule, but if I had to guess, it will start the first Monday of May.  I think he wanted to make sure he had the baseball players available for spring practice, and the baseball tournament starts around April 28th - May 1st (those dates are not exact as I don't have a calendar handy).
