bigchief
Just saw on TSSAA that Waverly is accepting apps for Head Coach position. Good luck Coach Graves in the future. 1st class individual. I hate to hear this. I have known Trey since we were kids in little league. Hope he can rebound into whatever he wants to do from here. fballtime
So What is going on with this one. Who will be in the running for this job?
papatiger
The kid your talking about was just a lot bigger than the other kids. He wasn't reason they were that good in reference to kid at ensworth. Coach graves is a classy guy and role model who did a great job. The problem was with these Jr pro parents who think their success against little kids is indicator of how good they will be in high school. Sometimes they mature fast, some have other things on mind like girls, and some quit. Another problem is the fact Waverly don't have near the enrollment they used to and are one of smallest enrollments in class 3A. It's a sad day that he isn't coaching. macbeth
Have any names surfaced as possible candidates?
gridirongreatone
It may be in our best interest to hire the middle school coach so that it may stop the pipeline to Ensworth he has created. We have lost a couple of pretty good players from Waverly. We may lose some more because our middle school team was pretty good again this past season, with good players. Good luck to Coach Graves. He is a fine man.

No disrespect for Waverly but Enrollment isn't the problem! If they was in 2a, they still would not be able to compete. This yrs team was one of the worst teams I've ever seen in 3a. I really hope they get football rolling like they did in the 90's!!!
ddaddy
I can't imagine someone coaching Jr. High anywhere and not encouraging all the kids to play high school.
getarealclue
I can't imagine someone coaching Jr. High anywhere and not encouraging all the kids to play high school. That would be a major detrament to anyone coming in and want to be successful. Seems like the powers to be in that county would want to eleminate that problem.
