Okay my heart needs some rest. This is why we love high school football. Games like this one. The word for the night is defense. Both teams played great defense. The underlying word is turnovers . Both teams turned the ball over. UC had one going into the endzone and H-boldt had an int in the endzone. Once again when the game was on the line my Tornadoes came through with some tough running and tough defense on a questionable 4th down play at the UC 35. The Tornadoes then did what they do best. Grind the clock and punched it into the endzone in the final minute of the game.

It was my pleasure to meet 09Viking. He is a good guy who supports his team and little brother. I wish him the best. We are off to NCS next week and are in for another tough fight. GO TORNADOES.

We lost to a good team that wanted it more, Humboldt play calling was bad but it is what it is!! On 4th & a foot at five yard line we put QB in shotgun & try to run, you need a foot & put QB seven yards back & try to run! Secondly, you get in red Zone twice & throw the ball with two interceptions in end zone instead of running or at least trying field goals! Thirdly, in fourth with 3:45 left at UC 32 yard line we jump off sides to make it second & 13, we run a sweep get nothing then on third down try & throw a tailback sweep! On 4th & 13 we run full back up middle & turn ball over with 2:45 should have punted if that's the play we had called! Lastly, get ball back at our 40 with :41 seconds & no time outs & Qb throws ball for a two yard gain in middle of field, coaches should have told him all passes should be toward sideline or ten yards or more to stop clock! UC played with heart & made some big plays when they needed them, Humboldt try to continue to run solid I instead of changing up offense like UC did that last drive for win, spreaded us out with four receivers & ran the ball, great coaching move!!! Good luck to UC next Friday, I will be at game to support you!!

Great game & congrats to UC!! Your coach made a great move going to shotgun & spreading Humboldt Defense out that last drive! We had a lot of questionable plays but it's over now so time for basketball!!
