Looking at Hixsons schedule and I noticed that they lost to a very bad Brainerd(3-7) team. Was a key player out that game? Or did Hixson play a bad game?

The Brainerd game wasn't Hixson's best showing. They had some tough breaks in that game like a 70yd TD run called back which would have gave them the lead. They turned the ball over a few times in Brainerd territory. Bradley was banged up so that hurt their rushing attack. Same thing can be said for the Soddy game. Now the Bradley loss Bradley just put together a very good last second drive to pull that one out.

Not to take away from Hixson's success, but they lost to a Brainerd Team that lost to a really bad Austin East team. Knox Catholic got a really good position to go to Quad 2 somehow, and it's showing in their success moving to round 3.  Catholic by 14

Best of luck to the Wildcats, slow the game down and grind it out. They will not make many mistakes, and will capitalize on every mistake Hixson will make. Trust us we know. Good luck Cats!

 

On a side note, had a good time speaking with the Knox Catholic kids after the game. Great bunch of boys. Number 5, 50, 57 and 77 played a great game just to name a few. Heck, good luck to both teams!
