thegood
Webb beats USJ and ECS. St. George's beats FCS and DCA. Therefore, Webb and St. George's will meet in Cookeville on Dec. 5 for the gold ball. How does everyone see this one playing out?
REBELRON
Pulling for Webb all the way.
Vols12345678
Did St. George's beat DCA on a last second play? If this is the case, this state championship game will get ugly. I wish Webb and ECS would have played in the championship instead of the semi finals. Those were the best two teams no doubt.
GoDores51
It wasn't strictly a last second play, but St. George's pulled ahead in the final minutes, and DCA failed to respond with a score. It was a very close game, and I would be surprised if St. George's could compete with Webb for 48 minutes.
WebbSpartans
Had dinner last night with a St George alumn. As a friendly overture, I offered to take him with our family to the game to see it. He respectfully declined. What did I infer from the remarks? Only that he had other things to do that day........ warhawk
prayers for an injury free game and that sportsmanship is paramount to all participants and fans. Hoping for a SG victory. They have an excellent coaching staff that will have them prepared to try and knock off the giant from the east. Thats a tall order all things considered. WebbSpartans
St. George has a strong winning tradition. Hope we can keep it going in our favor. Will be hard fought.

Antwan
Crowd looks dismal.
WesVLT
Crowd looks dismal. When you put the DII championship games in Cookeville even though all but three or four teams are located far west of Cookeville, you can expect poor crowds. I would like to think that if the game were played in Nashville, residents of the state's second-largest metro area would make the 15-minute drive to see the game. Very few impartial observers -- even the most diehard football fans -- are going to drive all the way to tiny Cookeville -- and that goes for every classification. Also, these are small schools, and the weather doesn't lend itself to strong attendance figures. Edited December 5, 2013 by WesVLT
