Alcoa v. CPA 3A Championship

Recommended Posts

And you still remain in 3A-where every other team is a joke to you and where it can't be proven in the postseason against a team like Fulton. Just sayin'.

Their enrollment places them in 3A. Isn't that the point of classifications? You know, playing with schools that are your size. Alcoa should be commended for working to raise the bar and for achieving such a high level of excellence. Maybe the rest of 3A should step up their game in turn.

I just want to make notice that Alcoa did lose to Maryville 31-2, but so did Knox Webb 35-15,and Knox West 42-20, all who are which will be playing for state championships this coming weekend. CPA did play a good team in Giles Co. but the rest are as questionable as who Alcoa has played. But Maryville to a Giles Co. No comparison.

It's funny you say Giles is the only good team CPA played and they got beat 38-10 and Lewis Co got beat 36-28 and was beating CPA with 8 minutes left in the game! Lewis Co was pretty darn good my friend (13-1) Edited by alltime

So was Knox Catholic for Alcoa who lost 49-7 and lost to a very good Knox Fulton team in the semis 41-34

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
