pujo, you think any of us east of Knoxville has a fighting chance in 2a this year. typically you all are our best chance. We gonna be a pretty good bit better than last year if we stay healthy. I don't know that we are State title contenders yet that may take another week or 2 of practice before were there. How do you think yall match up with the other big dogs this year like GCA and TC. I seen GCA at passing camp in Gatlinburg...they more than pass the eye test but then again they didn't have to hit anybody.

Imho we have the best shot,we'll have to stay healthy and improve every week. On another thread someone said a GCA and Trousdale rematch  could very well happen. They may be on to something.

Its good to hear you guys will be improved.Good luck.

You are correct Pujo about the 2A gauntlet. Trousdale is the obvious favorite, however, Grace Christian, Boyd Buchanan, Oneida, and Rockwood are tough outs for anyone. Another school that hasn't been mentioned much on these threads is Silverdale Baptist. They have been improving a lot every year. Has anyone heard anything about Silverdale this year?  One thing is for sure, whomever makes it out of the east will have been battle tested and then some.

I doubt Silverdale will be in the mix this year, they lost a ton. But private schools can reload pretty fast.  But I don't think they are as determined as some of the others.

Pujo did they get to have the scrimmage tonight? If so how did everyone look?

Yep they went at it, West Lincoln was the clas of the show on offence, had alot of good players but #7 was the real deal. I thought we were were very effient on Offence, moved the ball well on everyone. We need to work hard and improve. Avery looked better on offence than on defence.Happy Valley ran the ball really well. It was a marathon and with our kids going both way all night,we were out of gas at the end. I'm sure all the teams seen areas to imprive opon. Just alot of fun and try to see who can do what.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
