We are looking forward to Collinwood making the " short " trip to Clarksville. The Academy and Collinwood had a very physical game last year. I think both teams have lost several key players from last year. The environment at the game was very intense last year. Clarksville Academy was able to escape with the victory. QB Montgomery put on a show. Both teams ended last year season with several starters on the injury report. I will guarantee that you will like our field and football atmosphere. Go Cougars!

when is this scrimmage to take place?  I got to go up there this week

the wood only needs about fifteen or sixteen guys baring injury...I suspect they will pick up several when school starts. They have a lot of experience and three or four talented freshmen that will help a lot...Im looking forward to the season but I feel the schedule is insane...I guess nobody on their level wants to play them anymore?

The bigger schools play the smaller schools to "pad their schedule". If Cwood beats Aville two or three years in a row then y'all won't be playing them anymore. That's why Lewis County don't play WC anymore and that came straight from their coaches mouth.

FWIW, Lewis Co. would have beaten Wayne Co. by 30 last season.

No scrimmage vs Clarksville Academy. Friday 9/12/14 Collinwood travels to Clarksville to take on the Cougars. We traveled there last year. We had to schedule them because Stewart County dropped us from their schedule. It was a rough game last year, very physical.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
