Bart Littrell, holds some records at at cwood as a player back in the eighties. Great hire for the program.

I'm sure you guys all know this but I always like to jump in and prop up the coaches.  These guys work for peanuts and pour their lives into these young men on their teams.  Kudos to anyone willing to pick up a program less than a month before the season begins.  Good luck to Coach Littrell and the Trojans this year.

P.S.  Anyone know where Logan Montgomery ended up going to college?  He looked like college material in the one game I got to see him play.

Very good athlete! It doesn't look like he has much around home though....not for his talent anyway. I was hoping C'wood wouldn't have a team some of those boys would come play for waynesboro...lol

there is a ton of football talent walking the halls over there, Bart just needs to get them on the field. Hopefully he will, he doesn't have a lot of time to work on it right now though.  Statom left him with a brutal schedule with Wilson, Hohenwald, Adamsville, and CA lined up as non district foes...that's a little to much for my liking.   Im glad they play Waynesboro in the third game before the boys get to beat down with that schedule.  Should be another good one

Im not being smart but I don't see this years game being nowhere near as close as last years. WC will just have too many athletes for Cwoods young team. As for playing in week three I hate it, this game needs to be moved back to the last regular season game.

We are looking forward to Collinwood making the " short " trip to Clarksville. The Academy and Collinwood had a very physical game last year. I think both teams have lost several key players from last year. The environment at the game was very intense last year. Clarksville Academy was able to escape with the victory. QB Montgomery put on a show. Both teams ended last year season with several starters on the injury report. I will guarantee that you will like our field and football atmosphere. Go Cougars!

the wood only needs about fifteen or sixteen guys baring injury...I suspect they will pick up several when school starts.  They have a lot of experience and three or four talented freshmen that will help a lot...Im looking forward to the season but I feel the schedule is insane...I guess nobody on their level wants to play them anymore?

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
