In 1972 the county went to junior highs with only grades 10-12 in the senior high. in 2001 when they built a new high school they went to a middle school concept and returned 9th graders to the senior high.

Actually it was 79 when the county went to 7 8 9. Turner Jackson was a teacher at what was Bradley jr. Then the next year he was at the high school. Bill Robertson was the freshman football coach and Larry Osbourne was the freshman girls coach.

Right and all their titles were from the 6 on 6 days and Jim Smiddy the legendary coach never win a game in the state tourney went it went to 5 on 5. Paul Cretton took over and that year with Amy Geren and Paige Redmond they finished second to shellbyville. Geren was named MVP of the tourney and was on the losing team. I believe that was the last time the had two D1 signees on the same team until this year.

White County ended Bradley's season(substate games) when Redmond and Geren were sophomores and again when they were juniors. Then they were able to beat White County in the substate their senior year(this is the year WC's Kellie Jolly tore her ACL and was injured) and they went on to lose in the finals to Shelbyville.

Was it true that ACL happened in a scrimmage against Jackson Co, and she was put back in at the end to try to score 50 pts and that's when she got hurt? Seems like a coach told me that story.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
