Yes they can. For the record the alternative school on Anderson Co. campus isn't for the purpose of suspended students, it is a CTE school. Knox Halls has a similar school as well.

So if they can I dint see where QSOUTH89 point about students enrollment carries any weight .. if they can play sports then they should be counted in TSSAA enrollment figures.

To me the private scholarship, non scholarship and the out of county for a fee or tuition are about the same thing .. cause that tuition or fee has been paid and will continue to be paid by some booster for a kid whos family cant afford .. thus the debate continues ... I say if your school allows kids from out of zones or districts then that qualifies close o the privates

you can't kick all open zoned out of public ball. If its open zoned in county, I see no problem. That's about 60 schools are in some way open zoned. Now if its a pay to attend open zone, thats diffrent. Also, taking in out off county students is diffrent. Simple solution, bump them up 1 class. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

What a hot mess this is.  What is the point,  going from 6 classes to 6 classes.  HELLO TSSAA!

Look,  Just make district games meaningful for playoffs.   This stops the travel and issue with teams not scheduling  other good teams out of district.

Or go to 3, 4 or 5 classes.    Don't go from 6 to 6!

Don't do anything, until you decide on Private splits or not?  What is the point, they will just have to be redone again.

Geez!  This makes no sense.

Can the kids at AC alternative play sports ??

Anderson county has 1021 students. The students at the alternate school are counted on the Achs enrollment numbers because the new school is in the process of getting a school number. Those students cannot participate in athletics at ACHS. It is against the board policy. AC athletic director went down and explained this to the TSSAA , and because it was built on the campus od AC, and because those student test scores count on AC the TSSAA decided to make AC count those kids even though they cannot participate in athletics. AC has a technical school on it's a campus as as well. They share it with Clinton high, who has their own school number so those kids are not counted that ride the bus from Clinton everyday. Hope this helps.

Sets it straight with me. Obviously Jody Wright didn't want too much 4A competition for Fulton. LOL

I knew what type of school it was, I thought they were allowed to participate in sports but none did. Shows what thinking gets me. Thanks for the clarification!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
