Here is my rendition. This is based off of the enrollment figures from October of 2012 that were used to set the 2013-2017 seasons. Obviously some other factors can be used in figuring out which teams go where, but thought this was a good start. Some schools would probably want to play up in class.

D2-A                      0-250

Class A:

Region 1: Knoxville Grace, King's Academy, CAK, Knoxville Webb

Region 2: Notre Dame, Boyd-Buchanan, Chattanooga Grace, Chattanooga Christian, Silverdale

Region 3: Friendship, SAS (if they bring back 11-man football), Columbia Academy, MTCS, Mt Juliet Christian, Zion Christian

Region 4/Region 5: Davidson Academy, DCA, Ezell-Harding, Goodpasture, BGA, Nashville Christian, CPA, FRA, Clarksville Academy

Region 6: Trinity, Jackson Christian, USJ, then 3 other Memphis schools (not sure about locations)

Region 7: 7 Memphis schools

Class AA:

East/Middle: Baylor, McCallie, Knoxville Catholic, Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, Brentwood Academy, Father Ryan, Lipscomb, MBA, PJPII

West: Briarcrest, Christian Brothers, MUS, St Benedict

Knoxville Catholic would be the odd team out in this set-up, but in any system will have a few like that. York Institute with no nearby teams in their class, is a good example. Four in the west makes for uneven playoffs.

Seven regions in Class A doesn't make for even playoffs, but with byes it could be done.

I think 2 classes in other sports will work, but the MJCAs, Zions, King's of the world will never have a chance with a loaded D2-A. Plus with more privates popping up, you will be able to add accordingly. cbg might be right, but 3 classes would be better football-wise, imho.

3 divisions will be formed. The big division of d2 now will stay the same. The current smaller division of d2 would see some go down to the smallest division. Lipscomb goodpasture CPA dca due to their size and type of school would fit well with bga fra usj fra Harding academy. Mtcs jcs mjca Columbia academy trinity would fit with small schools. It would be quality athletics at those 3 levels. Two levels would polarize to many schools. Tssa won't have to worry about it they will form their governing body.

When the split happens, the privates will form their own group independent of the TSSAA and will have their own set of rules.  Let the open recruiting begin!!!

Both the public and private schools have been recruiting since the beginning of high school athletics so what makes you feel that anything is going to change with another association.

One is when you go from public to private you won't have to set out a year. You will have kids playing their freshman and sophmore year at a public and the go to a private and play immediatly.

The main reason privates would form their own league is for financial benefits. Why give the tssaa a cut if you don't have to? Keep more money for the schools and control classification and postseason independently. Also the transfer thing would be interesting. A split is a longway from being done but not as long as it was at one time.

confucius say...the privates WON'T form their own division....or they would have already done it....smh...They will remain under the TSSAA or not be recognized on a national level....now, i'm not saying that the TSSAA might not change the rules in D2( like no sit out for transfers,etc)....but the privates don't have the kahunas to break away... :popcorneater:
