Looking at 6a results i would say the big boys are lucky maryville played down those years.

True. Although I think Maryville would've struggled to beat some of those great Rankin teams @ Riverdale back in the day.

Misinformed by thinking that they couldn't get it done at the highest level of football in this state. Nothing to do with them playing where they should've been playing at the time. Don't blame them one bit.

So when are you talking about, troll? I don't remember Maryville playing 'down a class', just playing in the class that their enrollment qualified them for - AA when there were 3 classifications, 4A when their was 5 classifications, and most recently as one of the smallest 6A schools in the 6 classification system, which by the way, they have played in the state championship game of every year that 6A has existed.

 

The only single A school that I can remember them playing was Alcoa in the 3 classification days. Has OR ever played Alcoa? I would bet they would beat you as a 3A team now.

 

Just to be straight.. The big boys are in middle and West Tennessee.. Maryville did play down a class for years. You think that's misinformed?
