Wish I shared your confidence.....I hope I am wrong, but I think the rest of this year will be very tough for the Govs.

I completely understand your frustrations and concerns. But solely based upon what I've seen up to this point, those three teams have all taken big steps back or stayed the same (IMO...sorry Heritage people), so that's why I'm still forecasting them as W's.

WB can still have a decent year. The way I see it they have lost to two quality teams because they underperformed and made mistakes. There's still alot of football left to be played and we can get better. Farragut is 0-2 and Lenoir city and Heritage both lost tonight. We are still very much alive in the district playoff picture. IMO the next 4 games in a row are very winnable if we can clean up the mistakes and continue to progress on defense. I just hope the boys keep their heads up and keep fighting hard. Hopefully we can get a big win next week at home. Go Govs!

Hope you are right....but, there are just too many on this team that losing doesn't bother. A lot of these kids have never been on a winning team at any level....winning is a habit, unfortunately, so is losing.

Boys played hard tonight, no doubt. Started off in the same position as last week, just with a much smaller RB working the middle and ends. Daniels looked pretty good taking command and leading the team down the field, but we need to put 7s on the board more often. Bryant was a wrecking ball, maybe let him carry the load a bit more.

I can't disagree with you. The talent is here, more than last season at least. Players need discipline and guidance. Was great to see Bailey Short get some receptions, he works hard and should be used as more than a decoy, he could be a weapon. Still saw some of the other receivers jogging or standing still when the play was in the other direction making it pretty obvious what was about to happen. If the Govs can find the mix of what works and use it right the offense will be scary. The jump balls thrown to Graham could not have been any better. Crossing routes were open and used, maybe a #2 WR was found?? Both Tipton and Bryant ran well between the tackles. It is coming together guys, just focus on this week versus last week. Improvement.

We must have been watching two different games because I thought they were playing their hearts out. Most WB teams of the past would have folded if they got down by 20 points but this team didn't. I thought they fought hard ,for the most part, from start to finish. The fact is it's extremely hard to win when you keep turning the ball over and get down 20-zip. For awhile there in the 2nd half I thought we might come back and win but when we failed to convert on 4th down and mo east scored a play or 2 later I knew it was over. But the team kept fighting even after that. I'm proud of the team tonight. I just hope they keep their heads up and keep plugging. Edited by Governors91

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
