IceCreamMan
CPA returned opening kickoff 92 yards, held GC 3 and out, then scored again and it was all over. 48-0 at half. CPA emptied bench and 2nd, 3rd team lost 12-0 in the 2nd half. Preseason I predicted GC to win this game - shows what I know. CPA is just so sound fundamentally, fast on defense, great kicking game. They are just a good team that doesn't beat themselves. I was impressed with CPA's team speed on defense too. Nothing gets to the corners. Osborne is a great all around player. WiseOldManGiles
No excuses. CPA owned us. #4 is as good of a linebacker that I have seen. #66 is a beast. #12 is unbelievable. And there are others. Well coached. A class bunch. No one will touch them until they rematch with the Tornadoes. Back to work for the Cats. After this week of practice I think they'll be ready for Tullahoma......
FBGIRL
When I was about 18 I was at a club and had had an awesome night, but as I began regaining my sobriety the gal I was with was a lot like the Cats effort tonight......UGGGGGGGGLY! Now while the Cats can't slip out the back and rinse their mouth outh with some 8yr old OC, They can commit to finding a better way and effort than they put forth tonight. They did it last year and it got them to the end. Good Luck the rest of way.
dadtimesfive
So that's what the CPA woodshed looks like. Thanks Lions for the reality check. We still have a ways to go before this season is dejavu. Heads up CATS bulls eye is still on us. GO CATS!!!
sportsnerd
Question: the jerseys for Marks and Holt that the GC captains carried out to the coin toss. They were purple, I think. Were these jerseys a gift from CPA in honor of those players or were they made by GC? Regardless, I loved that they bring them out for the coin toss. Very classy and touching way to remember those young men whose lives were so tragically short. Hang in there, GC. Like last year, I bet you will finish strong because you are strong. coach77
Nerd , I think those jerseys were a gift from the CPA team in honor of those players. Most of the CPA team rode a bus to Tison Marks funeral this summer. There is much love and respect for Giles Co from CPA.
sportsnerd
#12 Hockaday for CPA is as good a high school player as you will see. True Mr. Football candidate. Problem is that he will not have gaudy stats due to playing a little over a half per game and more plays on defense than offense.CPA is not running the alternate QB offense they ran last year with Weatherly (passing)and Hockaday (read option) alternating. Weatherly is running the offense and Hockaday is playing about 1/2 the snaps as RB. They want Hockaday to stay fresh on defense where he is a beast. I see some college team getting a real player as he can easily carry 20-30 more pounds and be a great college linebacker or strong safety.
