MSURacer
Tough, tough loss for the patriots. But man, that was one heck of a football game. Hope we see them again down the road. Good luck to RW rest of the way.

Good luck to RW rest of the way. MSURacer: I said during the early stages of this season that there are four 5A teams in Memphis that are title contenders. Those four are Ridgeway, East, Millington, and Melrose. My top two of the four are Ridgeway and East. East just beat a very good and tough 0-4 White Station team tonight by a score of 28 to 27. Yeah, don't let the 0-4 record fool you ... every team White Station has faced so far this season is of Ridgeway's caliber or better, just to give you a reference. I said that to say, You may or may not get that shot at Ridgeway again, depending on how all of this shakes out. Even though East and Ridgeway are both 5A schools in the City of Memphis, they are in different districts. That doesn't matter because they play each other in the regular season. Who knows how all of this will shake out but there is one thing for certain ... there is plenty of football left to be played and there are plenty of good games to attend. I'm sure HC will be fine. Tough loss ... but what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. I know you hate the loss, but you guys watched two premier 5A teams tonight, and it sounds as if it were indeed a dandy.
Kevin38
This was a great game, both teams kept fighting back and forth in a small window of the game.; It doesnt get any easier for HC as they got a tough Rossview team next week..... True that. HC cannot stay hungover on this one. The Rossview game was big enough as it is. Now it just got even bigger...

Kwc, I was impressed with Ridgeway for multiple reasons tonight. But I was most impressed with Coach Sutton's gameplan. They didn't come out trying to run n' shoot us to death. They protected the football and simply made enough plays when they had to, despite another solid effort from our defense. This was one of those games where it just sucked that someone had to lose. Our offense, though, continues to struggle. We're just not dynamic enough on that side of the ball. And we're not good enough up front to just line up and run people over like we have been at times in the past. The defenses we've gone up against have had a lot to do with it, but 3 times isn't a fluke. Our offense still has a good ways to go... They have put up big numbers against some pretty weak competition. When they played against good competition, that being Central, they had their head handed to them.
