As i am new to this message board... i wont be bashing other teams... but of course, i will do my best to uplift my waverly tiger team. Lol. My son plays for the tigers and as he moves on to other things after high school i probably will as well...lol

I expect the camden/waverly game to be the best matchup in our schedule. Much respect to both teams

So right you are. Talk is cheap. When the time comes and if Waverly beats Camden my hat will come off to you. Gurantee you one thing, should you beat Camden you will most likely sweep the distric but never count out Fairview either. Camden beat them but it was early in the season and was no walk in the park. Depends on the match ups. I will gurantee you one thing Waverlys QB will have to do a lot of throwing on the run throughout the rest of the season. Good luck to all and especially to Camden when they meet Waverly on the 17th. Good luck to you Waverly Friday night against Lewis Co. They are hard hitters as the offensive line will attest to after the game. I pray both teams have no serious injuries.

I will give them Congrats too if it Happens and wish them well in the playoffs. They have been Chest beating on here since week 2.Guess they havent won 3 in a row in a long time.

If y'all were in Waverly's shoes, y'all would be doing the same. The community, school, and team are excited about our Tigers. They have every right to be. They have worked hard. Do you blame Waverly for bashing Camden. They want to beat them more than anyone on the schedule. Its been a long time coming...11 years to be exact...the Tigers are Hungary and NO ONE TEAM in this District will stand in their way! This is their year and its well deserved.

It looks like the stage is set for Friday night. Waverly is going to see more visiting fans there than they have seen in a long time. "When Camdentown goes, the town goes with them." The only people left in Camden next Friday night will be a couple of tattoo artists, the Sonic girls, and all 10 Wallymart employees trying to hide from one customer. The last time Tiger Central beat Camden was in August 2002. Wavo 21, Camden 0. We were very disappointed to get such a whipping from a good Waverly team. We had a 6-4 or 7-3 caliber team that ended up 2-8. It was the beginning of the end of a very decent coaching staff. (Ward came in January of 2003 and went 6-5 that fall with a first round playoff loss at Lewis County.) Camden might have been up over the past few years, but Camden doesn't want to lose to Waverly...........ever. I expect Waverly to have a great team, but Camden will bring their A game to the field, because losing to Waverly in football matters, and it matters a lot to Camden people.

I think if Camden can avoid 20 holding penalties in this game, they score everytime they have the ball. Waverly doesn't have the defense that can stop them. Waverly will score but the QB is going to be one tired cat from all the running he will do. Whitfield, Reese, Whitely and # 82 will be all over him. You won't get the rushing yards against Camden that you got against Lewis. If you beat Camden it will have to be in the Air and that won't happen because you QB is not that good. Brown and the rest of the offense will steam roll you like hot tar on a hot road.

I think #5 is a very special talent as is a couple others on Waverly's team. I believe that this will be a high scoring game. If the QB is pressured he will hurt you with his legs. The key factor could be Camden's physical play. If Camden beats up the skilled players from Waverly I think that will determine the game. Both teams are very good and this should be a great game.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
