It's not stupid.... 99% of teams would have taken a knee in that situation... It's a sign of respect, it's just something you do. The only teams I have ever seen pull that stunt are farragut and maryville. Our QB is gone for the year and from the sounds of it might not get to play basketball.. Needless to say that left a bad taste in my mouth.

24# put a bad taste in my mouth and you expect sympathy from a group of kids that were the victims of this cheap hit artist. There was no football to this kid other than to play outside the rules which was obvious to a blind man. Your coach needs to take some accountability for letting this garbage go on. I do hate it for the young man that got hurt for William Blount tonight and hope for a fast and safe recovery.

I just watched the video of the WB qb's injury. #77 for maryville pressured him out of the pocket, wrapped him up around the waist and 77s body came down on his leg. Unfortunate injury, I hope the young man has a speedy recovery.

It was obviously WBs plan to hit the QB after every handoff. This was done by more than 1 player against every one of our QBs. It's legal if it is after a play fake but several were so late that it should have drawn a flag.

Just curious which starters did not play for WB? Why did a Fair not start but played late into the game?

Good job tonight by Govman. I may bring my dictionary the next time I go to a WB home game to look up a few of those words he was throwing out.

Shout out two tha Gov-Man......"Eye'm jist talkin' bowt Shaift"....

82.... Gov-Man wuz usin' $5 and $6 Bungylow Villige werds on tham big ole speekers......Eye hurd "cornycopeeuh"..."multeetude"..."plethoruh"..."hole host"....... :popcorneater:

Congrats to the Red Rebels, you all have another fine team....that is one stingy defense. Sad to see the senior go down for WB, hate to see any kid get hurt, prayers for a speedy recovery for him.

As for #24, he is a Freshman that they brought up because of some injuries...only practiced two times because of the short week. I have no idea what he was or was not instructed to do. I was told that he was instructed that he had QB responsibility on the read option, but he took that a little far when going after the QB completely away from the play. Hopefully, it was more youth than being a dirty player, and hopefully he gets the instruction that he needs. The reason the kid is in Blount Co. from what I understand is that he lost his parents and had to come here to live with grandmother, as I said, hopefully someone will provide the instruction that he needs.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
