Sophmore....and Larry Csonka/Earl Campbell is about hitting the nail on the head.  I got to admit, there ain't a whole lot of "dodge" in the kid. :o   He has had his share of run overs this year....as it the other fella got left in his tire treads.  Sure wish we could teach him the fine art of running around people instead of through them.  Aw heck, what he does is working pretty good right now....so what do I know.  As long as his ego stays in them britches....he will be just fine.  Appears to be a very humble kid.

After 3 or 4 games I thought we had completely abandoned the forward pass because we looked like we were catching the ball with stumps.  Lately we have grown fingers and seem to stick with it til we bring it in to the body.  I'm not going to jinx them.....they better keep catching them as if their life depends on it....!  (Heck, it probably does if I know their Daddies!!!!!)

kaz... I believe you will see a little more pass these next 2 weeks its time to start prepping for the playoffs!!! B)  Also the Oneida D is playing with some killer instincts right now and being pretty stingy as well. I was very pleased the way the defensive backs have played as of late. 19 or bam bam whatever they are calling him these days is a punisher for sure! :hungry:

Good luck to the Indians. Seen Grace play last week and if ya meet them in the playoffs, I believe ya can take them this year.

Grace is still a very good football team. That said they aren't as dominating as the last couple of years. I know whoever has to play Hampton will have their hands full as well. They were a very solid team at the start of the year but they seem to get better each week & have really came together. The biggest weapon we can add to the arsenal at this point is to handle the game in front of us Friday, then prep for the regular season finale & do the same. If we can do that then that makes November a much better situation for us.

And Crow.....it is looking like those two will be Rockwood and Meigs.  So we could be in for a re-match with the only team to beat us.  As fearful as that is, I like our chances because those boys know they didn't finish and they are hyped up for a little redemption.  Absolutely no problem getting pumped up to play the Green Tigers again.  Side note.....#40 did not play against them the first time and #19 was still getting his feet wet.  I believe he had 3 carries in the game....although I'm not certain.  He has become a much more integral part of this offense.  After getting burnt twice in the early part of the year the secondary seems to have fixed covering the deep ball.  All in all, if that is who we play (or Meigs) the playoffs are a whole different animal.  Having the experience over the years....we'll be ready.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
