This Friday is senior night, and the Polk fans need to get out there and show our appreciation for the seniors that have stuck this thing out. Regardless of record, the young men out there now have given their best for Polk Co football and deserve to go out with some support! The seniors that have stuck this thing have been a part of 3 other really good teams with 3 district Championships. Those things should count for something. How about everyone coming out and supporting the kids this week. The crowd last week at The Valley between both teams was embarrassing. If those Flying Monkeys from the wizard of oz show up wearing those red and black uniforms like they did a few years back, we could be in trouble. Our offense looked looked like Scarecrow after they got hold of him. They were flying all over the place stomped the stuffing out of us just like Scarecrow. You think I am joking, I am not. Nope, recon not Someone said something about the poor attendance at the LV game, which has been noticeable all season. I think part of it is due to the absence of Vic's passion on the sidelines. 25% or more of the crowd came to see Vic stomp up and down the sidelines as much as to see the boys play. Vic's friendship (or hatred) of the opposing coaches also added to the passion/tension of the game. And that passion was absorbed by the boys which made them play with more passion. No wins are ever easy at the Larry Davis Football Complex. I've got a feeling Polk is going to be biting nails trying to get this win. Thankfully, everyone has been at practice this week except for our couple of injuries. beerman Posted October 23, 2014 Report Share Posted October 23, 2014 1) Polk County has had this game circled for weeks because this is the best chance to get in the win column. 2) Polk is a very physical team, even when it's late in the game and the game is in hand. SP better be ready to play 4 quarters 3) we are still trying to find the right combination of kids and plays. 4) coming down the back stretch of the season, and I have not heard pads popping. #9 had 2 nice tackles against Grundy.
