Sounds like RW just got better. One stud player at  a small school can be huge.

That's your response!? Why do I think you'd have a completely different response if he had transferred to GCA instead of Rockwood? Especially if he got to play this year, which I'm certainly not sure, but I don't think he is. I watched him play bball for about 3 years, he's a good kid. But back to my original thought, I find the hypocrisy very amusing...

It just seems like you (and others, I don't want to sound like it's just you) have always been quick to accuse us of cheating/recruiting non-stop. What's the difference? (I know the one case that will be brought up now is the ONE that happened 7years ago. Not condoning it. It may have been done for the right reasons but nevertheless, was against the rules. I think you hit the nail on the head with your statement, "we all get transfers now and again". The problem everyone has with us is that we are perceived to have an unfair advantage because we have more things to draw students/players. And that may very we'll be true. If that's what everyone came on here and gave us a hard time about, I wouldn't have a beef with that. My problem is all the crap about cheating that everyone whines about constantly. If folks would just fuss about the perceived advantages instead of the cheating, we'd all get along fine...

Well  you guys had the Basketball issue and then the wannamaker deal. You've brought in coaches and they brought kids with um. When the kids finished the coaches left. Its just been alot of red flags. Now that you have all the nice things and a winning tradition that was built by questionable methods, you are a lure for  kids interested in sports. You may even run a legit program now but so much has happened over the years that not many trust you.

I rode Coalfield like a rented mule when they got the Haney kid, that was a bogus deal as well. Poopy stinks and when you smell it,no one has to tell you what it is. There have been several cheating programs over the years,Ezell Harding was a mess whan they had Smith as a coach. Ijust like things on the up and up and somewhat fair.

That IS my issue on the subject. Not the perceived advantages however, the actual advantages. Is GCA cheating, I have no idea, but it does not appear so from the outside. There are some clear advantages however in regards to preparation, play book or film study time, school wide "strength & conditioning" electives, basic football concepts electives or whatever other classes a person that is not a certified teacher can be a paid faculty & "team teach" under a certified educator. All that amounts to is time that doesn't have to be used in after school practice time & are advantages a public school just doesn't have. Basically you can do these things & when 3:00 rolls around the play book, weight room, conditioning & / or film study are done for the day & it's time to hit the practice field. Throw in the ability to control enrollment numbers & the ability to select or reject an applicant for whatever reason the admittance committee sees fit then there are some clear advantages. I don't know how many schools utilize all these advantages but clearly these advantages, & I'm sure more that I haven't listed, are more than perceived. Again this is a private / public statement, not a GCA vs. the world statement. All private schools have the ability to either utilize these options or not to.

And those are a ton of reasons why the split is needed. Were not the same creatures.

Agree, all these things help make our average athletes better. Helps us tremendously. All these and the fact that we have better coaching staffs(IMO) is why I think we do as well as we do. I don't say "average" athletes negatively. But send me the list of past GCA players who have moved on to play in college. It's not a long list. I don't think we "out-talent" very many teams at all in our district. Greenback had 2-3 running backs that were as good/better than any we have. In response to your admissions comment; I would be absolutely and utterly shocked if your concern was founded. I think we only want to grow our enrollment, not restrict it.
