5a and 6a State Champion predictions

I don't think there are that many teams that "bow" down to Maryville? I think everybody should probably respect what that group has done, no doubt. But they are a high school football team and can be beat. It's not only the Memphis area that doesn't "bow down" to them. I don't understand why every section of the state feels that their section (East, Middle, West) is on a different level than everyone else. Each section has some seriously strong runners. Somebody earlier mentioned Memphis teams having a "different breed" of player...maybe he should elaborate what that's supposed to mean.

I feel the same way but according to a lot of Eastern posters on here the East is the best in the state hands down no comparison because of the amount of Gold balls that Maryville has and to me that's bull and soon as I said something that didn't praise them a Mt Juliet fan came at me talking nonsense (for some reason) lol. I have no idea what that meant either about a different breed. Everyones entitled to their opinions tho right or wrong.

The championships pre 6a don't mean anything to us. I said I rem Riverdale being the dominant team in TN in the early 2000s, is that not correct?Being in the last 5 and winning 3 is still great. No one is taking anything away from Maryvilles greatness. But the East view/fear Maryville like they're unbeatable, in the west/Memphis we definitely respect Maryville but we know they can be beat cause we've done it! How you took my original post and equated it to arrogance is beyond me. Yall really don't like people to comment about Maryville unless they're bowing down, I'm trying to figure out the right words to describe that...

So you're respecting Maryville when you say The Championships Pre 6A Mean nothing .... Like I said , you all Keep Hollering Respect Da Haven , yet you have no clue about respecting your opponent . Bow down ?? Showing respect means you're Bowing down ????? ... Well I guess we now see why you all Holler " Respect Da Haven " don't we ?

The east does win 5 of the gold balls each year, usually. A good chance the east gets 3A-6A this year and Webb will win as usual. I don't know much about 1a and 2a but I think the east has some contenders there as well. OVERALL, the east has much more depth. Each sections top teams are a wash imo.

I said they mean nothing "to us" and I was moreso referring that to the dominance that yall think yall have over the rest of the state. You must cant read or comprehend very well can you. I think my posts have clearly shown I have respect for them as well as every other Whitehaven poster on here. Yall talk so much slick crap but if anyone else says anything that's not askisin its a problem.

It's a difference between respecting an opponent and automatically conceding defeat like the most (not all) of the eastern teams yall play but since I'm not constantly telling you how good Maryville is and saying something contrary to popular belief it's disrespectful, it's more competitiveness than anything. Yall can and will be beat is the last and whole point I was trying to make.

Any man or woman that proudly waves the Rebel Flag can kindly kiss my grits. You can't tell me anything about RESPECT.

I Love it that the Maryville REBELS are so much in your head ... I could care less about your respect .... 15 State Championships are awesome , knowing how much you hated seeing Maryville win last year just makes it that much sweeter ... hate on hater

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
