I found it amazing that D'burg finished higher and beat Westview ... yet we have to travel to Liberty.  WOW.... sort of weird but to get where you want to get you have to beat the best.  Good luck to both teams.....

the Z plan is based strictly on geography...not records or winners and losers...just a group of 8...then the next group of 8 and so on...its all a joke...dburg/westview...north side goin to chester...lexington goes 5-5 gets a home game

 

thats what the people get when they all cry about traveling...oh no thats too far to go for a game...tssaa tried to cater to the masses and now we have 1st and 2nd round games being played between top 10 teams all over the state...no one gets rewarded for winning a district unless u go undefeated and play a bunch of scrubs to get there

 

its sports people...either u play for the competition or u play so that u get a cookie...which one is it

The Milan Bulldogs are 5-0 vs Westview in the playoffs since the year 2000.

A couple of those years Milan lost to Martin in the regular season.

Coach Morris is well known for his football teams peaking at playoff time.

 

We all know what happened at Martin in the regular season.

 

The last time we lost to Westview by one point in the regular season,

They got possum stomped in the playoffs.

 

I'll take them Bulldogs by 14 this Friday!

A couple of those years Milan lost to Martin in the regular season.

Coach Morris is well known for his football teams peaking at playoff time.

 

We all know what happened at Martin in the regular season.

 

The last time we lost to Westview by one point in the regular season,

They got possum stomped in the playoffs.

 

I'll take them Bulldogs by 14 this Friday!

Yea, you are right once again DHSTennis about the (Plan of Doom) Z-Plan. I am glad that after this year we are returning to some normalcy in the football playoffs.  I think every year since this plan has been in effect, that upon the completion of the season the administrators at TSSAA has had to critique it in some way.  Perhaps after about 5 years of this playing a season for naugh unless you are undefeated or finish number one or if you are just plain lucky (Lexington) maybe everyone will not be so quick to complain about travel.   Yea that part about Lexington getting a home game now that really sucks.  I guess we are playing for a cookie, or a lollipop..... a sucker for a sucker.  I also don't like some of these big first round games..... Milan vs Westview, and D'burg vs Liberty....I would like to have not seen us playing the same teams in our district at least not until the third round. Oh, but once again that's the infamous 'Z' Plan strategy.... I guess slick1 needs to get with the program.

I agree....Milan much better the 2nd half of the regular season after their new QB got settled in..look at a common opponent...WV...at home.. by 1 in OT over Huntingdon and Milan...at H-Town 27-0 over the Stangs...if the same officiating crew as week 6 shows up at Martin Friday though...the Dawgs might as well mail in a forfeit...

Milan played Martin-Westview strong first half schedule in the second half which is what makes them look better than M-W cause Westview played the weaker teams (other than Crockett) in the second half. Also Milan had several single A teams on their schedule.

The single a teams you speak of are traditional rivals that we play every year. But this research you speak of.... Tell me about this. Did you find that Westview lost to the same Dyersburg team that we beat? Did it tell you about how they beat Huntingdon by 1pt and we beat them by 27?? I really want to know. Not trying to give you a hard time either. Really just curious.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
