Class 1A Proposed Football Regions 2015-16

They lost to Greenback who won their first and only Gold ball. We've been beating down that door every year since to get back there.

Here are High, Low and Average round trips for each school (per Google maps):

 

Gordonsville: 174, 52, and 104

Trousdale: 192, 52, 106

Red Boiling Springs: 162, 44, 108

Clay County: 204, 44, 124

Monterey: 258, 76, 144

MTCS: 228, 84, 146

NCS: 262, 90, 158

Pickett: 312, 74, 176

Jo Byrns: 312, 106, 180

 

Maybe T$$AA has cut a deal with OPEC or the Saudis to stimulate oil prices.

This is ridiculous.

Now, Gordonsville already plays most of the schools, so I have no problem with the teams in the region as a whole.

BUT, Jo Byrns got shafted big time.

Not to mention these teams going west in the playoffs. There is no reason why regions 4 and 5 shouldn't be reversed and Jo Byrns moved.

None of this makes any sense whatsoever.

I believe this is the Tennessee high school football apocalypse. Thanks T$$AA.

This is ridiculous that they did the regions like this. Jo Byrns got the shaft not only a ton of travel and cost, but talk about a tough region 7 of the nine are play-off teams this year, 4 teams were district champions this year, and 4 of the teams are traditional 1A powers over the past 6 years. There will be 2 to 3 teams each year out of the play-offs.

7 of the 9 are playoff teams this year and Jo Byrns is usually in the playoffs.

There is likely to be a team or two left out of the playoffs each year that would be extremely competitive in other regions.

Really? Oakdale to Region 1? For real? They take the western most school out of Region 2, and send them.. East? Seriously? I mean, they literally will have to drive by the front door of Harriman High School to get to anyone in Region 1.

It seems like it would have made more sense to put Jellico in Region 1 than Oakdale.

The region 4 & 5 swap is weird.

Look at 6.......Cwood, WC and PC go west. This is a gate killer. With Cwood being down I cant see Houston Co, Huntingdon, McEwen bringing much of a crowd.
