Did Jermaine Shepherd and Dedrick Dye come back to play or something? Bet you wish y'all still had them two lol

Oh man no doubt haha. That was some fun times with those two players. I remember we came to your place in the 98 season ranked #1 in the state and they had to close the doors and not let anyone else in. It was three deep or more with fans sitting on the floor. Awesome atmosphere!

The good old days in the old OR gym. I bet it was like a daggum sauna in there lol....Yeah buddy. Them two were special players. If I'm not mistaken the Dragons went 30-0 in the regular season that year and lost in the freakin' regions. Not to mention Pittsburgh signee Toree Morris who was on that team, too. Not to sound mean, but I miss the days where Clinton had great basketball teams. from the Bam and Yak Weaver days to the Shepherd and Dye years. When those two teams would clash it was a dang battle. I bet Freddy Fagan was there doing grandma shots from half court at halftime too. Good ole Freddy!!! lol miss those days.

Yes i miss it too. We had a great stretch of basketball from 95-96 to 05-06, what I call the golden age of Dragon basketball. Couple of state appearances '97 & '04, 4 sub-states, multiple district and region championships. I think our best team was the '97 squad with a great senior class of Casey Taylor, Matthew McGhee, Robert Rochelle and the Tipton twins Caleb and Josh. Shephard and Dye were super-sophs on that team. We had Pearl-Cohn led by Ron Slay and Big John Henderson down 10 at half in qtr.finals of State.

Actually the 98 team finished 31-1 losing to Tennessee High in the sub-state at home. That was a bitter loss for us and still hurts. Toree Morris was on that team, but battled knee problems all year and didn't play many games if I'm not mistaken.

Y'all actually had some really good teams even before those years. I can remember some real good 80's teams with Ballinger and Weaver bros, and a guy named Booker. Haha that's funny about Freddy. That guy is one of a kind. I bet if you cut him black and orange would run out of him.

hey science, will that game tonight be on the radio? if so what station? thanks

Prepradio.com for the oak ridge broadcast, although they have had a little trouble lately.

Go to the scoreboard here on CoachT, find the OR-Fulton game and there is a link to both broadcasts at the far right.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
