Does CC have a wrestling team? If not they should start one up for the football players that dont play bball. Great sport for football players.

No they don't. It always ended in a fight instead of wrestling. Haha. The used to have one but ended the program in the 80's. But remember, back then we couldn't get 20 kids to play football and would have 100 try out for bball.

Well, I went to the CC/ OR game and came away with a few thoughts.

Oak ridge is the best team in East Tennessee.

Tee Higgins is also a D1 basketball prospect

Trey Toress is the best point guard in East Tennessee.

Both teams future looks bright.

Both teams well coached and play hard.

CC lost by 24 and didn't play that bad. Lol. Gillenwater hits a few shots and it a little closer game. The first dunk Higgins got was a rim rocker. Torres wore out all the guys that tried to check him. He made a living at the line. Coach green is a class act too. When he saw CC had subbed in the fourth, he emptied the bench. Unfortunately their very talented as well. I really liked a couple of CC freshman too. They aren't intimidated at all. One of the better crowds I've seen at OR too. Fans should get out and see this team play!!! They are talented and play the game the right way. I don't know if it's this year, but I will say OR plays for state championship two of three years and to state the next three years. SS, go ahead and get your hotel rooms in the Boro.

Thank you Carolina.  I thought your young guys played pretty well.  CC will definitely be competitive in the next several years.

So we are better than Bearden? They beat CC pretty handily as well.   They may be the best in 4AAA this year.

Well in defense of CC, they sat starters the entire half of the second game. It wasn't as bad as it ended up. That said, their much better than we are.

Yes OR is much better than bearden. I'm serious when I say it'll be a 20 point game if they play in regions.

As for CC being competitive in future? Yes, I'm excited, but realistically were all playing for second the next few years.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
