I'm not sure a 4-6 team deserves it at all, which is what these teams most likely finish. And let's not forget McMinn beat WV by almost 20 points.

a 4 win team that goes 2-4 in the Region will go, unles McMinn beats Soddy to clinch 4th place outright with 3-3 in Region.

Cleveland and WV will finish 2-4 in Region.

True but walkervalley was a few pts away from beating Bradley and coffee. McMinn shouldn't get credit for a canceled game and wv has scored a lot More pts

What does it matter that Walker Valley was a few points away from beating anyone?  It's based on wins and losses - not moral victories for being close.

Why shouldn't McMinn get credit for the canceled game, since it was their opponent that ultimately forfeited it?

Walker Valley doesn't deserve going any more than Cleveland or McMinn does if they all finish with the same Region record.  I'm a McMinn fan, but making the playoffs with a losing record is just silly.  I know the coaches and players of these three teams see it differently than I do.

Um well ur still complaining with 4-6 teams going to the playoffs whenever in the old format, you could go 1-9 with only 1 region win and make the playoffs. I don't make the rules. And WV will be the team to go because they have scored the most points of the 3 teams. McMinn got shutout twice although by 2 good teams its still shutouts. I'm a Cleveland fan not WV but I'm just stating facts. I didn't make the rules tssaa did.

Walker Valley may be the team to go if they all have the same record.  Are you saying they'll go because of scoring the most points?  Is that the TSSAA rule?  I don't claim to know the tiebreaker rule, which is why I've asked a few times.  The article in the Cleveland Daily Banner indicated it would be McMinn in the event of a 3-way tie for 4th place, which prompted my questioning.

In my opinion, the top 4 teams of each Region being eligible for the playoffs is just a way for the TSSAA to generate more money for themselves.  Maybe it's a better system than we had, especially for some Regions with stronger teams top to bottom.  Beyond Ooltewah and Rhea County, our Region isn't that strong this season and I'd be stunned if our 4th place team doesn't get blown out in the first round of the playoffs....though I don't know what other Region we'd be paired against.  It is what it is, though.

I agree that the t$$aa is all about the money. But they will also go by how they fared against the same opponents.

Our Region is paired with Region 3. With the way things look now, who ever finishes 4th will head to Farragut.

Farragut vs 4th place (WV, Cleveland, or McMinn)

Oak Ridge vs Soddy

Rhea vs Campbell Co

Ooltewah vs Clinton

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
