State Semifinal:Rhea County at Knox West

I may be wrong but the pass looked like a screen pass was being set up. Your QB threw the ball up in desperation because he didn't want to take a sack. The receiver in question was actually blocking for said screen pass. Linemen were down field on said play. Get over it dude it was blown all the way around. Speaking of #11's, let's not act like yours was so innocent. I love how everyone but Rhea County fans can see it. Again, I have no ties to West with exception of them being in the same county. Bad calls on both sides? Sure. But if you are being honest with yourself, the big hitters went against West and could have cost them the game. By far the worst group of officials I have EVER seen!

Not saying either number 11 was innocent.  They were at each other all night.  The penalties nullified the play as they should have.  Some keep pointing to that as being relevant to the outcome.  It wasn't.

And Marshall is a much better player than your number 5. You number 5 is fast but I could have ran through some of those holes and I am really slow.

Don't fool yourself - #5 is a player. Might want to ask your defense what they thought about him? And I agree - you are really slow. Edited by MeritIII

Really bad officiating. Vast majority went against West. Don't know who was trying to defend the no call on the TD pass to #85 to tie it, but that was the type of call that gets a ref banned from working again. Believe that the offsetting unsportsmanlike fouls were post possession, which means West should have kept the ball at least after the inadvertent whistle. Not to mention that there was a few TDs called back against West for holding. You could call holding on every single down of a high school football game. These guys wanted to be seen last night. Very very poor!

The penalties were post possession. Please explain why the ball did not go over to West.

Your argument is falling apart.

85 is an end not a tackle.  May have been one of those strange alignments with the wing T because he has never lined up as a tackle.  You all are also assuming that Rhea would not have scored anyway.  We would have.  I've seen that look in the eyes of the team - they believed at that point - if there had been enough time at the end - we would still be playing football.

Yes, I am another one of those "impartial" observers of the game.

You can call him what you want, but he was lined up in an interior line position, and he was covered up and that made him a tackle and made him an ineligible receiver.  There is just no way to defend denying that.  It is crystal clear on videotape.  Any linesman who would miss that call has zero business officiating a football game.  It's his job to see that.

The officials were from the Cinch Valley association, which works games in Anderson, Campbell, Scott, and Roane Counties, so their area borders both Knox And Rhea Counties.

MARSHAL IS GOOD BUT THESE GUYS GOT TO REALIZE THAT THEY NEED TO PUT ON SOME WEIGHT TO PLAY AT THE NEXT LEVEL...AND RUNNING THE VEER AND  THE WING T WILL GET YOU INJURED FASTER THAN SOME OF THE OFFENSES....THAT'S WHY ALOT OF COLLEGES DO'T RUN THEM....SOME OF THE SMALL ONES DO...BUT NOT THE BIG ONES...

Never said put him under center - there are 22 positions not including special teams. Ever wonder what he would look like in your secondary or receiving corp?

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
