The off season is good for makin' prognostications. It does make sense take a look at Copper Basin's schedule on my Copper Basin 2015 post. I do think Whitwell wins the Region with CB 2nd and SP 3rd.

It doesn't make sense that you think Whitwell will lose to SP then turn right around in the same post and think SP will lose to Whitwell...you edited that post 3 times and it still doesn't make sense.

Thanks pujo. The young men in our program invested themselves to the extent necessary to be successful. They've grown physically and intellectually and have begun a process of transformation and elevated expectations.

We have a very good staff of hard working men (Coaches: Atterton, Cabell, Easterly, Mosier, and Weiss) that are excellent role models and put in many hours. I ask a lot of them (during the Summer as well for 4 days a week in our Strength and Conditioning Program).

We have a new Principal that has been very supportive and understands what is necessary to facilitate success and has been a part of the community her whole life. We have an Assistant Principal that has been a tremendous resource to me and our entire program and also understands what it takes.

We had a very supportive QB Club that helped keep the young men fed to have sustainable energy for the practice sessions and games and help out with the extra items necessary to run a program.

We had members of the community that stepped up and donated funds toward new helmets (40), shoulder pads (40), and team cleats (40) because they believe in what we're doing and how we're going about it.

It is extremely tough when you have to play 8 or 9 guys both ways, but in the words of Coach Bryant... "Tough times don't last, but tough people do."

We are optimistic about the upcoming year. I feel truly blessed to have young men, coaches, administration, support staff and families that are willing to put in the time and energy to get it done.

I also am fortunate to have a beautiful and supportive wife who understands what and why I do the things that I do.

We are building a program and I believe Whitwell is a special place with tremendous potential. #RedCollarWorkEthic #WhitwellFootball #TigerTown

We appreciate that you've noticed. If you ever get down this way, please stop in for a game. If you send me a PM, I will put you on the pass list for the game of your choice. Thank you.

I think you're doing a good job at Whitwell. Seems the kids have bought in and the community as well. Good luck next year.

Saw you at the MC/TC game Friday. Thanks for the support.

I always liked the rivalry with the tigers. To bad it didn't work out but maybe in a couple more years it will work again. Seven region games is a lot, or at least I feel like anyway. That limits what you can schedule with natural rivals. Leaves not enough slots and I guess which ones work out is who you play. I had rather play whitwell than Grundy but it is what it is. Maybe we can scrimmage you guys or something.

Is that Ross man scared to play that Helton man? That Helton man said he gave that Ross man several days to play him. I'll ask that man at Ronnie red eye about this mess. You think im joking but im not.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
