Who will be Warren County's next Head Coach?

Why hire a re-tread? Most schools do this. If your going to lose why not give a young coach a shot. Nothing to lose. Any coach that is winning is not going to Warren County unless their is a problem somewhere. Take a chance hire a young coach. Hire someone that has energy to burn. Most re-treads are not going to have the energy to make Warren County a winner.

No coach is going to make WC a winner. Have you not heard of the Super 32? And if this so-called "young coach" you are referring to is all that hot...why is he even in WC? If he's that great, would he not have other options?

I am not thinking of anyone in particular just a young coach to get a start. Yes I am aware of the Super 32. Any coach that is winning is not going to ruin his record at Warren County. Warren County hiring committee needs to forget about getting a coach with a good resume. Hiring off a resume is not the answer. Hire a good solid young coach that really wants it.

I agree with this completely. Why re-hire an ex coach that had very limited success during his previous tenure at the school? You already know what that coach has to offer, and what you will be getting from him. Being in a  new region, wins will also be harder to come by. His results would most likely be even worse this time around. 99% of proven head coaches that are currently employed will not be interested in this job. That's the truth, and unfortunately just the way it is for WC. At best, you may be able to hire a quality coach who has been out of the coaching game for a few years. He likely wouldn't stick around long, and would use this job as a stepping stone. I truly believe the best approach for WC would be to hire a young coach. Someone that shows great potential, and could grow into the job, even if he isn't quite ready for it at the moment. Maybe he is an assistant for some top team in the state, maybe it's someone local. I don't really know. Any young coach that's able to experience any success at WC, would be more likely to stay loyal to the school if other programs came calling. This is simply because yall gave him his first shot at coaching, and it would be his "baby". You need someone who has the time and energy to build this program the right way, from the ground up. That's hard to do though when not given the right resources, full community support, and enough time to see it all through. The next coach should be given 4 years at the very least. There would be struggles and growing pains early on, but it often takes a full 4 year cycle to see the results you want on a yearly basis.

The D.M. said it was time to move the A.D. to the central office with the others flunkies and find a replacement.

Tha AD doesn't make the choice on who to hire all by his lonesome. Check out who is on the selection committee as a whole.

And you are also overlooking one important fact in all of this: replacing a head coach is one thing but keeping all the same dead weight assistants is another. Until WC cuts loose some of the goofballs on the coaching staff it wouldn't matter who was the HBC it would still be a loser organization.

An AD may have a selection committee that guides and gives him their opinions on who to hire, but the final choice is solely up to the AD. No one can actually make him go one way or another when it comes down to it. Sure there may be a extreme amount of pressure to choose someone in particular, but that's still only have a voice to be heard.

Maybe that's how it works where you live, but not here.

    • You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence.  4A has the best teams in Upper East TN.  Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.
    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
