Heard dibrell mafia said cotten wasn't ready not to hire him.so he is out for sure.that family going to have an odd christmas dinner...back stabbed there own

Hmm....if true, that's very surprising. I figured ole Cotton was a shoe in this time around. I agree he's not ready though. He would stay loyal if he had any moderate success, whereas someone from outside of the county may use this job as a stepping stone.

True, like for instance a coach from a nearby 4A program that might be wanting to test the waters in a higher classification. You never know. Not naming any names though

Ok, so they have the power over the AD, the principal, and School Board to say who they want as the coach. I mean they shouldn't have any input unless they are on the hiring committee.

Someone from an earilier post said that one of the Dibrell Mafia is on the school board. So, if that is the case, then there's your problem to start with.

Why hire a re-tread? Most schools do this. If your going to lose why not give a young coach a shot. Nothing to lose. Any coach that is winning is not going to Warren County unless their is a problem somewhere. Take a chance hire a young coach. Hire someone that has energy to burn. Most re-treads are not going to have the energy to make Warren County a winner.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
