CPA goose eggs Alcoa and silences the goons!

Let me start by saying this was a great game and both defenses played out of their minds. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Congrats to CPA on winning and capping the perfect season.

Now...............with that having been said:

CPA's FG call from 60 yards late in the game was dumb. I know that the goal was to kick it to the end one and give Alcoa the ball on the 20 but there was way too many issues that could have made that play a collapse of epic status.

Alcoa calling a jet sweep with 0:20 to go in the game and NO TIMEOUTS REMAINING was worse. They didn't give themselves a chance to win in the end.

That call shocked me as well.  Doesn't the ball go over to the other team at the line of scrimmage (as opposed to at the 20) if it goes into the end zone on a missed field goal  as in college and NFL?

And the kid had a legitimate chance of hitting it. Connected on a 53 yarder with no wind this year. And he had a 25 mph wind at his back. If he misses, Alcoa gets the ball on the 20. The biggest risk was bad snap or block.

In past years, CPA would attempt a ridiculous long FG just to kick it out of bounds and it was essentially a punt out of bounds and ball was placed where it went out.  That ruling may have changed, not sure.  I really don't think it was a dumb move.   It just didn't work out.

Rankin set offensive football back decades with that performance.

I heard at Halftime last time Alcoa team did not score in the 1st half was 1979. When was the last time they was shut out?
