Soarman27
Nobody will beat Hendersonville i thought cane ridge would but the couldn't br discipline through out the game. Them and Marryville run the Wing T to perfection. They got the train rolling over there just like every year
tandem
What I learned last night: 1. Beech is exactly who I thought they were: a .500 to slightly better team. The young qb is going to be a good one, and had a few nice plays but showed his age a a few times last night also. They are mistake prone and not very deep, playing quite a few sophs. 2. Hendersonville is not as good as I expected. Going into the game I thought they were one of the best 2 or 3 teams in the state in 5A. Not so sure of that after seeing them in person. They will easily win the region (see below), but have a ways to go to make a legit run at Cookeville. Hatfield is a great coach and I'm sure they will continue to improve. Other than 20, I believe their secondary is small and slow. Hafner ran free most of the night and if the ball was thrown on time more often he would've had an even bigger night. I believe they will be even better over the next 2 yrs as Hatfield's crop of Metro kids gets another year older. Also, not sure why 6 isn't the starting qb. I understand he is a soph. 3. Gallatin is not as good as I thought. I understand it's at HC and they had an off night, but 42-0 is hard to explain away. Lots of folks will study that film. There Springfield and MJ wins are looking less impressive also. 4. Losing to a bad (by their standards) Riverdale team is an unpleasant surprise for the Burros. It looks like a rebuilding year there. 5. The biggest thing I learned last night is that Region 6 5A is not nearly as good as I thought. 1-5 against Region 7 5A is not good and doesn't bode well for the playoffs. Hendersonville is a good team, but not great yet. Other than that, everybody has a lot of work to do over the next 7 weeks.

Right now I would say we are a work in progress working hard to get better. I believe a lot of the mistakes we are making are due to having a lot of starters who are underclassmen or just first time starters. On the fade patterns to Hafner I give him credit for going and getting the ball. We had a guy there on each one, just have to make a play. I thought our D line played pretty well holding an explosive Beech running game to around 130 yds and putting some good pressure on Smith. The soph QB we have is coming along and made some plays last night that helped us. He will continue to improve. The Bucs have a tough one next week in CR as do the Commandos with a talent laden Hillsboro team.

Still not ready to classify Cane Ridge as an elite team. 2 typical metro wins and as you put it a horrible MJ team only good team was Hendersonville and they lost. 13sports
SC has had some bad luck, but why wouldn't you be taking a knee on third down with 26 seconds left in the game, if the other team has no timeouts left? They should hammer HL next week, but...............

If you think there is anything on film that will help a team prepare for Gallatin, you will be sadly disappointed. It was a comedy of errors for Gallatin. Nothing against HC but Murphys Law was all over this game. Edited September 12, 2015 by wave88
CommandoFan81
Tandem you have to keep in mind that it was a hendersonville beech game. Even when beech had jalen hurd in his prime in highschool they won by one touchdown in the 4th quarter. Skill doesnt matter as much. These kids want to go out an kill each other ex. The fight that almost broke out. The team with more heart and motivation in this game will win and hville just had more heart that night. waveyard14
i agree the district is kind of underwhelming this year. hhs should win it. hillsboro has enough talent to keep it interesting. Next weeks game will be interesting... beech and gallatin remain ??? station camp...oh station camp...where do i begin. that has to be the most disheartening way to lose a game. Especially when ur staring 0-4 in the face. there was still hope for there season at 0-3. now im not so sure. 0-4 is really hard to recover from... MJGOLDENBEARS
Questions after week 4, just how good are Wilson Central? Are Lebanon actually decent? As much as Gallatin fans blame turnovers for the loss against Henry County, how can you explain 42-0? I don't know what to think of the old 9AAA, maybe just a subpar year for everyone? Help me understand...
