The first time this team ever stepped on the field was 2 years ago as a jv team and they won their very first game ever at the jv level. I think they can compete for some wins their first year. Richland is horrible, Grace Christian wont have the horses. and I thinkj they might be able to compete with Huntland and Cornersville as well. I see a big time class a program inthe makings, especially of they do get the new high school and football stadium being discussed.

I know that you'll support the program Vandy, just don't expect too much too early. Scotts Hill had a good run with their jv schedule, but it's not the same when the varsity games begin. Be patient with the coaches, bear the losses, and support the guys no matter what the outcome...they will endure some lopsided losses and long losing streaks, but they are the foundation for the future and deserve all the fan support that I'm sure that they will have.

Some programs just aren't very good, and if you have one or two on the schedule it will help to give the team some confidence, ( they'll need it ). Just remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, and Summertown won't be either.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
