Knoxville area ball

I was at the Knox Co. Middle School Championship last night. Northwest beat West Valley by about 18. Northwest had 5 STUDS out on the floor playing an entirely different level of basketball. Assuming these guys are 8th graders, does any one know where they will be going to high school next year?

McKinney the tourney MVP will more than likely be at fulton... His sister is Keke McKinney led fulton to a state runner up season last year as a freshman...

That's a possibility I am close with his mother and he is really good at football as well... I hope he comes to fulton though...

The "latest" on him I believe is; its now Fulton he will be attending with his sis. He is a special talent. I'm not sure of the other NW kids...

Tournament time is here. Glad District 3AAA is at CHS. Be able to watch the games.

 

3 AAA. Oak Ridge will win title without a challenge. Pick Karns as 2. 3 and 4 is a pick em.

 

4 AAA. Bearden and Maryvile in championship game. West is the wildcard could pull an upset. Heritage beat Bearden but hasn't done much since.

 

3 AA Carter has the most talented starting 5. Do they have the depth. Has their schedule prepared them for a deep tournament run. Fulton best in regular season. Athletic and have at least one really good player. Can they avoid a meltdown like last year. GP capable of pulling up set in early rounds. AE coming on strong beat a very good Catholic team.

 

4 AA. Catholic and CAK very good. Both well coached and talented. Will injury to ptg start to have a greater affect. Loss to AE may be an indication it has. CAK CAMPBELL is best player in district and they are well coached. Alcoa is a team to watch. Could pull off an upset. Rest of district weak.

Having played Webb (on Tuesday) and Maryville (the night before) the mental focus was not there against the Road Runners.  Lots of mental errors and breakdowns, not boxing out at the free throw line (on three consecutive occasions), getting called for 6 charges, not moving their feet on defense (A-E's speed probably had more to do with that then anything) and silly reach in fouls by Catholic.  A-E played well (especially Hale and Mobley).

District 3 AA. Article in paper today referenced Carter having beat two players in Knoxville area. So I pick them to beat Fulton in championship game AE is dangerous and playing well. Will take care of GP for third place.

 

District 4 AAA. Maryvile is my pick cause they are playing at home. Bearden runner up. Heritage and West battle it out for 3 and 4.
