Birddog
Ok so candidate 1 we know nothing about as of now. Candidate 2's overall win % as a HC is lower than the previous HC. Candidate 3 has football knowledge but coaching middle school and high school are totally different animals all together. Candidate 4 has years of experience as Asst. coach but out of coaching for a few years. Whom ever is hired will need to pull in some good Asst. or they make a staff from all of the above. wingman10
Dr. Dickerson will make a good hire.
TheTruthPrevails
Tim Taylor, or Jason Evans would be my choice for what it is worth. I would apply, but I am under contract in Florida until June. Either way that would be a good staff if you got both. Jason is a good coach, it is wrong how he was done at Marion. Tim is a good solid guy as well. I think with either of those hires you could build a program. I like Evans a bunch and you may have felt like he was done wrong, but he wasn't ready to lead a program like Marion when he took over. He didn't do to much better at upperman either. In fact, the aDministration flubbed up several hires before they got it right with Pruitt. If you hire Taylor in my opinion you should have just kept the hometown Bryant in there because it will be a downgrade.
Justask
CB is the best hire. Has been a successful head coach at multiple stops!
TheAmbassador
CB is the best hire. Has been a successful head coach at multiple stops! The key word is multiple. Coach Barger is a good coach, but he does seem to jump around quite a bit as do some of the other candidates. The Grundy-Altamont bunch might regret the Bryant decision. DelTavian
Ok...now that name is out there.
Headhunter42
I would say that Chad sees an opportunity to get closer to home and realizes that it's gonna take years to get the Creek to be a contender in the region they are in down in GA. All those good players go to Dalton and Calhoun and would probably be run out of town after another year or two of loosing. So this is a stability consideration for him and his family and if Grundy's administration feels he's the best qualified then it would be a good move for all involved. jackbacker2
What was Bargers record last year?
TheAmbassador
What was Bargers record last year?0-10, but he was dealing with a different animal than Grundy routinely deals with on a weekly basis.
Birddog
0-10, but he was dealing with a different animal than Grundy routinely deals with on a weekly basis. 3-7 the year before that at Clay County. Overall winning % as HC is lower than Nicks also. Seem we are only going to make a lateral move or worse for a new HC.
UpperCumberlandMan
GA is a totally diffrent level, no way to compare. That's like saying a coach at a bad SEC school with a bad record coundnt come to UTC and win based on his recored at say Vandy. Two diffrent levels. DelTavian
Is there somewhere we all can see the overall numbers for Taylor and Barger? I think it would be a little easier for all to pass judgement if we had the numbers and not someone just posting that they have bad percentages.
