Riverside is in no way going to be an easy game. They're very physical. They're extremely well coachedas well. They're led by 5'10 guard Bree Linton. They also have another solid guard in Sha Scott. They don't have much size in the post, but their guards don't mind pushing the other team around. When I've seen Riverside, they've struggled against the press. I do think Gibson Co. is the better team, but they must come out and play like the better team. I will take Gibson by 10.

Man I hope GC gets by Riverside. GC will be a tough out if we make it up there. GC playing Greenfield, Bradford twice, Dresden and now Riverside is not an easy task. GC plays a nasty defense and I will say this if they get beat the other team will have earned it because they play hard. GC showed a lot of character being down in the first half against Dresden. I think this team is peaking at the right time and it would not surprise me at all if they won it all after watching last nights game.

I think if Gibson makes it to state, they have as good a chance at winning it as anyone. I guarantee their starting 5 is as good as any in Single A. Depth, of course, will be an issue. Three games in three days will be pretty rough...

GC Dresden pressed the entire game last night. We hardly even pressed and the 2nd half they were winded. They were turning the ball over left and right. We started in man and got behind and went to the 1-3-1 and mixxed in a little 2-3 zone and it gave Dresden major problems. I believe this bunch is poised enough and conditioned enough to do it. I got worried last night when we got behind but the showed some composure. We get by Riverside it's going to take a good performance to knock us out.

Yeah our girls looked like they wore down Dresden in the region championship. And that was the second game in 2 days. But it's still very hard to do. And you always have to worry about foul trouble as well. I'm feeling better and better about our team though. Bo Booth gymnasium will be ELECTRIC Monday night. Hopefully they can help the girls get to the boro.

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
