Usually 3a has their way with 4a, but that hasn't been the case the last few years.  I hope both teams play one more time.  Congrats to Clay and good luck to both teams the rest of the way out.

Had to jump into this topic. It's people like UCSportsFan that make this so enjoyable. I'm sure Jackson Co and all of those girls championships (this is a boys forum by the way & is Jackson Co girls still playing?) never had a girl switch over from another school. You complain about a Cookeville transfer yet you play one? You think GP recruits send someone over and check it out. What would you do "if" you made it to state and had to play a PUBLIC school from Memphis where they have open enrollment? You want to cry and complain about recruiting come play he big boys who actually do bring kids in from all over (Ensworth, Brentwood Academy, CPA). Then you might have an argument. Not all privates are on the same level and if you don't think that publics get kids to switch schools and work the system then you are a bigger idiot then what everyone already thinks.

First of all don't insult my intelligence here moron.  I'm very well versed in what goes on with Private schools especially the ones that play in Div I.  If you're trying to insinuate that they are not trying to get players to move into their programs every year then you're the idiot.  How else does a kid from Cookeville move up to Madison Tn?  Or have one from Iowa show up at CPA?  Best thing you can do is stay on the ivory tower side of the discussion boards because you'll lose this arguement every time.

I have been trolling here and I talked to the Pickett County coach at yesterday's game between Good Pasture and Clay County. He was the assistant at White County High School for several years prior and they played Cookeville of course. Seems the Cookeville kids dad lives and has lived less than 1 mile from Good Pasture school since they moved to the Tennessee area which he said was over 4 years ago. He said that kid moved there because his mom left the Cookeville area but she later came back but it was long after the move. You might be barking up wrong tree with at least that kid. This is from a competing coach who has a team with no love loss to Good Pasture.

Side question, are all them boys at Clay really that young? Doesn't bode well for my boys at Sales Creek for the coming years if they are.

Clay only has 3 seniors. #22, #5( region MVP) and another kid that doesn't play an awful lot. They are deep and should have a really good team next year. As to all this Private/Public debate it doesn't make a bit of difference, Last time I checked private schools are not undefeated in the state of TN. Look, one got beat last night by a very good County school. Who cares if a kid is not from the area? Everybody has a different story and the only thing that matters in Basketball is who scores the most buckets.

And before you get on her spouting off who is better and who didn't play, you boy started at least 4-5 games last year. Paynes dad lives a block away from Goodpasture (which is Madison for the stupid people like yourself). Also, being from BA I know a little about getting kids to come, much like all of those storied girls,programs you talk about. Not all of that was "homegrown" talent. So not only are you stupid but you are a stupid hypocrite.

Since when is a town a prerequisite for attending a school? Do only students from Gainesboro go to Jackson Co High School? There are some valid arguments against private vs public but using the town that the school is located in isn't one of them.

I know for a fact as my sisters were on the teams, that out of the 5 state championships that my siblings were involved in that 4 out of the 5 championships had 0 starters that were transfers. All home grown, from K-12. So you don't know what your talking about.
