From what I have heard, pretty much everyone seems pleased with Watson and I think as of now the rest of the staff will remain with the exception of coach Strap, he's playing in the arena league.

Going to need coaches on both sides of the line and a defensive coordinator. Wont be suprised if he stays local to fill all of those openings

team may have better chemistry

Really?  I guess if they have better chemistry, that may make up for some of the talent they lost...but, surely they don't have a QB that will match the numbers that Jennings put up, do they....Who is the OC for Blackman?

Well as we all know, chemistry can be a huge benefit, but it doesn't completely overcome talent.  Not saying that we don't have the talent at the QB position, because there are some players with real potential in the ranks. The thing that Jennings had was both his strength and weakness if you can call it that. He was the kinda player who would put the team/game on his shoulders and and carry the load if needed. Sometimes it meant playing selfish ball  and making plays and sometimes there were other options. But that also comes with age  and expierience which he will get plenty of at UT. Who knows who will step up this next season, and who knows who will transfer in/out or have a huge off season. It will be different for sure, but Blackman will still make a good showing I am sure.

Great points Blaze45. I spent 6 years with Blackman High School Football and it always amazed me how each year after graduation you would say how we gonna replace that guy. Yet every year kids matured and stepped up, filled those rolls and embraced the challenge. I'm sure the same will happen next year and it sounds like yours will be a big part of that stepping up. :popcorneater:

My son has lots of work in front of him he was just a freshman this year My screen name is misleading. But you are right Sam Luker as an upcoming Sr will be a big part of that defense. and strength across the middle. We got exposed mid-season there and it nearly bit us a few games It will allow Armsrong (if he gets the nod) at qb to play one way.The interesting part will be watching the method behind the madness this year. Do we play players because of tenure, or do we take the Riverdale approach and start to develop the underclassmen and set up for success in year 2 and 3 under Watson reign

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
